I am back with one last Christmas in July location, this one from The Nine Lives Of Christmas. But first, let me share some fantastic news from my little world! My #Locationfrustration has gotten a whole lot better this week because I was able to scratch three of the four “Hallmark Houses” I’ve been looking for, off my list!!! That’s right, three down and only one to go…..well, for now. What can I say…..my “still searching for list” is always growing. As soon as I scratch one off, it seems I add two more. But for today, I am celebrating my victory. As of 6:25 this morning, I have FINALLY found the Mrs. Miracle house. (I know, and it is indeed a miracle!)
I spent today in Canada, meeting with the homeowners of a very special property, an interview literally seven months in the making. And as you can guess, it was a real thrill for me. I will be featuring this location later this year during the holiday season. Since I am off until September, I am taking full advantage of my time and conducting as much research and interviewing as I can and working ahead on my content. I was also able to take a bunch of photos of locations I have found, including two of the “Hallmark Houses” I mentioned above. We are heading north over the weekend to see the Mrs. Miracle house and I’m telling you I can hardly stand to wait!!! I have wanted to see the this house for years (yes, YEARS) and have been actively searching for it over the last several months. And so, I would like to see it in person with my own eyes. I would have gone today but time just didn’t allow as this location is NOT in Langley, or the surrounding area. (shocking, I know!) I cannot wait to share it with you during the holiday season. Anyone else out there LOVE the movie Mrs. Miracle?
The Nine Lives Of Christmas
Like many of you, I have taken full advantage of the network’s Christmas in July celebration. I’ve been recording holiday movies around the clock and I have so enjoyed getting to re-watch these films, especially some of the older ones. I have been trying to catch one every night. I recently sat down to The Nine Lives of Christmas and remembered how much I loved this movie the first time I saw it when it premiered in 2014. The film is based on the book by Sheila Roberts. From Hallmark:
“Fireman Zachary Stone is a confirmed bachelor who doesn’t believe in love or commitment. When a stray tabby cat named Ambrose shows up at his door, Zachary takes him in and slowly starts to see that a little companionship might not be so bad after all. Zachary’s commitment to solitude is further challenged when he meets Marilee), an animal lover and veterinary student who teaches Zachary how to care for his new feline roommate. Chemistry immediately develops between the two, but will they find a way together despite themselves”?
Since I started this blog, I have become much more familiar with some areas of B.C. and many times, I am able to recognize locations by sight. And that is exactly what happened when I began viewing The Nine Lives of Christmas. I immediately noticed the firehouse, having passed by it countless times over the last year. It’s a lovely newer building in Fort Langley and to be honest, its hard to miss. With it’s bright colored paint, It stands out…in a good way…and is just down the street from Glover Road, which runs right through town.
I thought the casting was great in this one and I especially liked actress Kimberly Sustad, who plays Marilee. I loved her as the supportive sister in A Bride for Christmas, which, by the way, also filmed in the fort and I wrote about here. In Nine Lives, her character was funny, smart, and hard working. She also showed great strength, something I admire. I thought there was great chemistry between Kimberly and Brandon Routh, who plays her love interest, Zachary…AKA Brown Eyes. They were so perfect together, content hanging out and fixing up that old house. LOVE it!!! And what about those cats!!! Even they were fun to watch in this one. (meow!)
Another location I knew immediately was the lovely Victorian home Zachary lived in. It is also located in Fort Langley and as you can see, it looks pretty much as it did on screen, although the foliage on the property has grown. According to an old Real Estate listing, the home is only 24 years old. It has 5 bedrooms, 4 baths, and is 4100 square feet. Interiors of the home were used for filming.
In the movie, there was a very brief scene where Marilee and Zachary were jogging. We’ve scene this area before on Cedar Cove.
As you can see in the background of the screenshots, there is a sign for Country Lane Antiques, the real-life antique store that plays Rags to Riches in Hallmark’s Garage Sale Mysteries. I will be featuring this shop next week on the blog. Be sure to check it out!

What I’m Watching This Weekend:
Coming up this weekend, Hallmark Channel will kick off its Summer Nights 2018 movies! There will be five all new summer-themed movies, each premiering on Saturday nights. First up is Love on Safari starring Hallmark’s very own First Lady, Lacey Chabert. This one actually filmed on location in Africa, reason alone for tuning in. And coming up on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries this Sunday July 29, don’t miss the new Aurora Teagarden Mystery: The Disappearing Game. Check your local listing for times.
Thank You:
I enjoy hearing from you and appreciate your emails. Thank you for reaching out and as always, I want you to know I am grateful for your support of this blog. I will be back next week with an all new Hallmark location.

Oh my goodness, Kerry! I love, love, love, this find! From the firehouse to Zachary’s house… it’s ALL Purrrr-fect!!!
It’s so fun they way you show us, not only the locations, but little hints on how you discover where the movie was filmed, like seeing street signs in the scene backgrounds, etc…!
That gorgeous Victorian home is probably one of my top three Hallmark movie locations… I’m so glad you were able to see it in person! Thank you so much for sharing!
Blessings on your day & next adventure! Net

One thing about Hallmark, I have a lot of favorites of which this is one. I easily remembered the firehouse but do you know where the store is that they first meet in? I know that Marlee’s apartment is in Langley so I am assuming that this store is there as well. As I said in another comment, it is fun to see places that are familiar and, if I remember, the first one I watched was Operation Christmas which was filmed partly in Whistler, BC.
Kerry
I *think* I remember reading somewhere that the pet store is in Maple Ridge but I could be remembering wrong. Yes, part of Operation Christmas was shot in Whistler. Fort Langley was also used in that movie. I recognized the church. And I totally agree with you, its SO neat to see the places that are familiar, on our screens. Thanks for your comments! 🙂

In one of the Murder She Baked movies Hannah jogs past this firehouse.

Good eye, Mary!!! I have been trying to track down her house from the first movie FOREVER! Perhaps I need to change my search parameters!!! Wish me luck! 🙂
