After having the summer off, I went back to work last week. The second day was far better than the first and the school year is off to a great start! Our daughter flew home for the weekend from Austin, Texas. It was a treat to have her here as we don’t see each one another often enough. She came to attend a concert in Seattle, so it was a quick visit, but it was nice to have her home with us.
Anyone else really like the movie Along Came A Nanny??? It is one that I watch over and over, yes, even though I already know “who done it”. What can I say…..Cameron Mathison just SHINES in this one! From Hallmark:
“As a series of burglaries plague an upscale, gated community, handsome detective Mike Logan goes undercover as a nanny, infiltrating the neighborhood and investigating the crimes. When the Bannermans, a high maintenance family in need of domestic assistance, hire Mike as their nanny, he forms an unlikely bond with the Bannerman children and develops a crush on Jessie, a beautiful nanny who works nearby. Struggling in his new role, an overwhelmed Mike soon falls out of favor with the children, who sense they’re in less than capable hands. Meanwhile, tensions rise as Police Captain Frank Milano grows frustrated with Mike for making little headway in solving the high-profile case. Amid a scandalous mayoral election and a growing list of local crime suspects, will Mike bring the criminals to justice, while trying to win back the affection of the Bannerman children and the heart of fellow nanny Jessie”?
I thought the casting was strong and of course, I enjoyed the locations that were highlighted throughout the movie. As I mentioned in this post, there were actually two different neighborhoods that were used in this movie. Since I’ve already written about the Langley development that we saw featured, today I will focus on the Maple Ridge houses where filming took place.
Located in beautiful film-friendly Maple Ridge, the Nanny neighborhood boasts some lovely hillside homes. After what seemed like forever, I finally checked out this housing track during my summer off. My friend, Janelle, used to live in Maple Ridge, and gave me quite the tour of this city. (thanks girl!) And trust me, after seeing this movie so many times, I was very thrilled to see the Nanny houses in person!!!
I am delighted to report that the Bannerman home, where Cameron Mathison’s character worked as the “best manny ever”, looks almost exactly as it did on screen. The homeowners have planted some pretty pink flower beds, which really adds a nice contrasting color to the place. And there is even a basketball hoop like we saw in the movie, although it is located street side rather than on the driveway. Still, pretty cool find!
And just as we saw in the movie, the Warner home, where nanny Jessie works, really is located across the street from the Bannerman home. And, it too, looks exactly as it did on screen. All in all, this is a really great family friendly neighborhood, and it is easy to see why it was chosen to appear on screen. And for the record, its not the first time we’ve scene it! Just yesterday, I was doing some research and re-watched the movie, How To Fall In Love, and recognized the Nanny neighborhood. Once I get back out to Maple Ridge, I will put together a post with some locations from that movie.
Remember that time I was researching in Maple Ridge and discovered that the Google Street View driver had captured the film crew of Love Struck Café? You can read all about it right here. At the time, I believed it was just some random fluke (which it was) but I also thought it was an isolated incident. Since then, I have run across a total of FIVE film sets, all caught on Google Street View. Two of them have been confirmed Hallmark movies; Love Struck Café and another, which I will feature during the holiday season. (stay tuned!) While researching for this Nanny post, I came across a film set on Google Street View, just up the street from the Bannerman house. (don’t you just love the guy in front, snapping a pic of the Google Street View driver?) Unfortunately, I am unable to identify the production, so I do not know what was being filmed. (but geez, isn’t it hilarious????) As I have mentioned previously, I do not contact homeowners, although I have been very tempted to ask this homeowner which production the shoot was for. (but I won’t!)
Along Came A Nanny is scheduled to air again on October 9, 2018, according to the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel website. Be sure to catch it!!

Every time I watch this movie, I’m always taken in by this wonderful little community. It looks like such a nice, lovely neighborhood.
I enjoyed seeing all the subtle detail changes since filming in your images. I bet being there you could just imagine Cameron & Sarah jogging down the street!
I’m also fascinated to know which homes from Maple Ridge were also used in “How to Fall in Love,” as that is one of my top ten favorite Hallmark movies! You definitely have me intrigued!!!
Blessings, Net

Hi Net, yes, it is a really great family neighborhood. The homes are all very nice and everyone takes care of their yards. And although the houses do look similar, the exteriors are different enough on each of them so they are not all the same. I think you will be very surprised when I write about the How To Fall In Loves houses. And I agree, SUCH a great movie!!! Thanks for stopping by Net!!! 🙂
