Hey there…..I am back! We had an amazing time on our vacation. I’ve been working an on-call job since late January and got called into work the day after we returned home. I ended up working every day last week (I’m not complaining) and as a result, I wasn’t able to get my post out. I had a full day of WCTH tours at the farm on Saturday and spent Sunday and Monday unpacking and catching up on yard work. Not only did our house explode with weeds while we were out of town but MacInnes Farms is SO overgrown right now, I could hardly believe my eyes!!! Elizabeth’s bench is surrounded by tall grass, to the point that you can hardly see it. Was I really only gone for a couple weeks?????

Meeting the Gals of Mr. Darcy!!!
Back in April, I saw a film notice posted by my friends at Whats Filming. I was super excited because it was for the movie Marrying Mr. Darcy and I SO wanted to meet Cindy Busby, Tammy Gillis, and Lini Evans!!! I am a fan of all three actors and have scene their work in numerous productions over the years. The notice was for filming at a bridal shop so I knew there was a fairly good chance all three would be there. On this particular day, it was wet, rainy and very cold! Even with my heavy coat and gloves, it was downright chilly.
I arrived early to the bridal shop and I could see they were getting things set up inside and outside the building.
I stayed out of the way, off to the side, where I could keep an eye out for anyone pulling up to set. There was a constant flow of activity; trucks with equipment, the van carrying background workers, more equipment, the hair & makeup team, and yes, even more equipment.
It wasn’t long before Tammy and Lini arrived. Now you might recall that I tried to meet Tammy during filming of The Sweetest Heart back in January but due to the massive downpour of rain, I couldn’t even get out of my car! Thankfully, although it was wet, it wasn’t pouring, and I did come prepared with an umbrella. When I saw the girls, I immediately said hi and asked for a photo. They were both gracious and kind and said yes to a picture, but they had to go inside first to do their blocking. I waited and continued to watch crew members haul even more equipment from trucks and it was during this time that I realized how enormous a task it is and just how much equipment is needed to make movies.
And since it was raining, it was that much more of a challenge to maneuver it all. If you are a crew member reading this, thank you for your hard work and dedication, and for helping to make these great movies that we all love.
True to their word, when the girls stepped out of the bridal shop, they waved me over for a quick photo. I was thrilled to have had a chance to say hi and get a photo. I only wish I could have had a minute to chat with each of them but the weather was not cooperating. I am SO grateful for the photo and that I was able to at least say hello. I know Cindy was due on set later and I did wait for awhile, but as I said earlier, it was pretty miserable out. I was there for a total of 2 1/2 hours before calling it a day. I hope there will be another opportunity to meet Cindy some day in the future. And hey…..two outta three ain’t bad! In real life, the bridal shop featured in Marrying Mr. Darcy is Vintelier located at 2539 Montrose Ave Suite 210 in Abbotsford, BC.
Thank you SO much to Tammy and Lini for taking the time, even in the rain, to acknowledge this fan and for the photo-op. You are both lovely!!! Be sure to tune in this Saturday, June 2, for the premiere of Marrying Mr. Darcy on the Hallmark Channel. Check local listings for time.
I will be back Friday with the final installment of my “Look Back at Cedar Cove“. THANK YOU all for your continued support. I am so honored that you visit my website every week. I’m heading back to Canada to visit a film location from the recent SSD: Road Less Traveled movie. I will be interviewing the owners and will write about it in a future post. And I’ve got my eye on several other locations we’ve scene and as always, I look forward to sharing these stories with you!!!

Oh, I’m so happy for you, Kerry! What a wonderful day this must have been, in spite of the rain. How sweet of these two lovely ladies to take the time to take a picture, and create this wonderful memory and keepsake! Both Tammy Gillis and Lini Evans are so warm and friendly on social media… I’m not surprised, at all, how gracious they were to you in person, too! I’m so looking forward to this sequel, and I can’t wait to see the location you feature next from “Signed, Sealed, Delivered!”
Thank you for sharing your incredible adventures! Blessings, Net
Kerry
Thanks Net! It was a lot of fun, despite the rain. It is always such a joy to get to meet people that you admire. And what makes it such a special memory is when they are so kind and gracious, like Tammy and Lini were. I’ve got more set visits that I will be sharing in the months ahead.
I’m so grateful for your friendship Net!!! 🙂

So happy you met Lini & Tammy! I have met Lini–we had a great lunch together & she gave me a bit of the Grand tour of the part if Vancouver we were in. So glad you had that experience. And yes the crew is amazing in any shoot!
Kerry
Thanks Ruth! It was a great memory for me. How fun that you had lunch together and got a tour of the city! 🙂

Hi. Loved this movie and all Hallmark movies.
Who is the designer of her wedding dress
Please and thank you
Kerry
Hi Joanne! I am sorry but I do not know who the designer of the gown is. I would suggest contacting Hallmark/Crown Media via email OR checking with a good bridal store. They may recognize it from a photo. Good luck!!! 🙂
