As I mentioned in my post last week, my friend Janelle lives in Langley, BC. She messaged me back in August to let me know about some Hallmark filming that was taking place. And since she only works a half day on Wednesdays, she was able to meet up with me in the afternoon so we could check it out together. The movie that was filming is none other than A Godwink Christmas and I cannot even begin to tell you just how excited I was. Seriously, I hardly slept the night before!!! I was already familiar with the title and knew who was starring, which perfectly explains my excitement. Paul Campbell, Kathie Lee Gifford, and Kimberley Sustad???? Yeah, like I said, I hardly slept the night before. Forget Christmas in July, it was Christmas in August! From Hallmark:
“As Christmas approaches, Paula, a St. Louis antique appraiser, reluctantly accepts a marriage proposal from her boyfriend Daniel. Sensing her reticence, her Aunt Jane invites Paula to her Nantucket home. When Paula visits nearby Martha’s Vineyard, she meets a charming inn owner, Gery, and enjoys celebrating the holiday festivities with him. Although Paula develops feelings for Gery, she moves forward with her engagement, but Aunt Jane reminds her that sometimes we receive messages from above to help determine which direction life should take.”
Filming that day was taking place at Krause Berry Farm, which we’ve scene in several Hallmark movies including Pumpkin Pie Wars, The Sweetest Heart, and Like Cats & Dogs. (among others) Janelle’s daughter had just been married at Krause three weeks earlier and now here we were, back again for a little Hallmark holiday filming.
Shortly after I arrived, crews started placing the fake snow.
I’d never seen it “rolled out” before, so it was interesting to say the least.
There were several Christmas trees standing by, holiday décor strewn about, and a gorgeous carousel was set up in the center of it all.
It wasn’t long before Kimberley and Paul walked past Janelle and me. I said hi and asked for a quick photo. Kimberley asked if we’d be there for a while as she and Paul were meeting with the director to go over a scene and do some blocking. I said yes, and they promised to do photos when they were finished. Kimberley was very sincere, and I was impressed with her immediately.
Krause was open for business that day so there were lots of families around. Crews continued working on the “snow” and eventually brought out the real stuff!
The Christmas trees were moved and placed and with all this activity going on, we got to watch Kimberley and Paul run through a scene with the director. You could tell that these two really get along and they were having a blast together, laughing and joking. I love the sweater Paul was wearing and just had to snap a pic of it.
It wasn’t too long before Kimberley and Paul made their way over to us.
I snapped a couple pics of just the two of them and then we got one of the three of us.
Paul was in back of the short fence and Kimberley (she is a stud!) jumped over the fence so she could stand next to me, not just with me. I thought that was so nice. She was playfully harassing Paul, telling him to get on the other side of the fence but he was having none of it, LOL. It was apparent how well they get along just from the brief interactions I saw. I think they are gonna be solid gold in this movie!
I told them each about my website and mentioned that I’d done a story on Kimberley’s Nine Lives of Christmas firehouse, as well as Paul’s Love on The Sidelines house, to which Paul replied, “I don’t know which movie that is but it’s great that you did a story on it”. In my head, I could see the Love on The Sidelines house, but I was thinking about the movie Paul was in, Surprised by Love. The homes are in the same neighborhood, quite close to each other. I corrected myself and laughed at my silly mistake. (yes, I’m fully aware I sounded like a complete idiot) We thanked them both for their time and they jumped into a waiting van and headed back to their trailers. All in all, it was such a fun time. It is always a great experience when you get to meet people whose work you admire and these two were both very sweet.
In the parking lot at Krause, I spotted a couple of cars that production brought in for filming. I will be sure to keep an eye out for them in the movie.
So, besides Krause Berry Farm, what other locations can we expect to see on screen?
Although I haven’t even seen the movie yet, I do know that the picturesque town of Gibsons, BC plays Nantucket in the film. Back when filming was taking place, I saw a few tweets about Gibsons and got very excited!!! Gibsons is located on the Sunshine Coast and is a short ferry ride away from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver. My cousin, Mary, used to live in Gibsons so I’ve actually been there before and loved it! It’s definitely worth mentioning that Gibsons was also used in Hallmark’s The Irresistible Blueberry Farm. The houseboat scenes were all shot there as well as some of the town scenes. (the feature Charlie St. Cloud also shot there, which is what I was interested in when I visited a few years back)
After reading this interview by my friend, Ruth Hill, I recognized a location from one of the photos. It looks like some sort of holiday dance or event takes place at the Murrayville Hall in Langley. The Murrayville Hall has been used in SO many Hallmark movies. Off the top of my head, I’ve scene it in Harvest Moon, Moonlight in Vermont, The Sweetest Heart, Appetite for Love, For Better or For Worse, Joyous Christmas…….and the list goes on and on and ON! I will have to feature it in a post one day.
I know that the house that plays the inn on Marthas Vineyard is located in Langley too, but since I’ve not seen the movie yet, I haven’t even begun to search for it. (but trust me, I will!) I am looking forward to watching the movie and seeing what other locations I recognize. Out of all the new Hallmark movies, this is the one I am most looking forward to seeing this season. I simply can not wait! Many thanks to Kimberley and Paul, for taking the time to say hi and pose for pics. #Classact
A Godwink Christmas will premiere on Sunday, November 18 on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel. Be sure to check your local listing for times. Watch it, DVR it, or like me, do both! I know this movie is going to have ALL the feels!!!
As always, thank you for your continued support of this website. I will be posting an all-new Christmas related film location in the next day or so. Stay tuned!

Well Kerry that was a very nice post to read! Thanks for your hard work tracking everything down. I have already decided this is my favorite new Hallmark Christmas movie & I’m honored that you linked to my interview with SQuire. I already knew Paul & Kimberley would be awesome. You confirmed that beautifully!
Kerry
Ruth, I am so glad you enjoyed this one! They are both so FUN to be around and I loved watching them play off each other. You could tell they are really friends and I loved that! And I thoroughly enjoyed your interview with SQuire and I am more than happy to link to it. Well done my friend! 🙂

I was watching the Hallmark Movie “A Godwink Christmas” this evening 12/05/2018, loved the movie and googled it to find out where it was filmed as it looked like home! AND Yeah, Gibson’s Landing as I know it located just outside of Vancouver, British Columbia. Thank you for “Down Memory Lane”. Now living in Wenatchee, Washington.
Kerry
SO, so neat for you Doreen!!! I love this! My cousins lived in Gibsons for awhile and I loved visiting them…..such a picturesque town on the water. Be sure to watch Hallmark’s ‘The Irresistible Blueberry Farm’…the house boat and some town scenes were shot in Gibsons. (more of a taste of home) I am so happy you stumbled upon my blog and I thank you for your comment. I live in Washington State too! Merry Christmas to you and yours. 🙂
SQuire
Hi Kerry…
my dear wife Louise and I loved your story about “A Godwink Christmas”!
You gave us insights even we didn’t know… such as Kimberley’s adoitness in flinging herself over fences to get her picture taken!
We KNOW you will love our movie!! And hope that one day you’ll visit the real Charlotte Inn … and the real Paula and Gery… on Martha’s Vineyard!
Wishes for Godwinks

Kerry
Hi SQuire, what a lovely surprise to read your comment…..thank you!!! I cannot wait to watch tomorrow night! I would LOVE to visit the real inn and meet the real Paula and Gery. That would be amazing and would make for a great story to share with my readers. I have always wanted to visit Martha’s Vineyard so you just never know! Thank you again for your comment and support. 🙂
Patricia Kelly
Thanks so much…..I became a fan of Paul Campbell from first seeing him in Window Wonderland (which is in my top 3 contemporary Christmas movies). I can’t wait to see this new one. Thanks again!
Kerry
Patricia, Thanks so much for your comment. I’m with you…..I cannot wait to see this one!!! (is it Sunday yet????) I have a feeling we will be seeing even more of Paul. I predict this movie will become one of my all-times faves. Hopefully I can track down some more locations and feature them in a future post. 🙂

This is fantastic, Kerry! You are amazing at getting these pictures with Hallmark stars! And, it’s wonderful to see how sweet and accommodating they are to stop, chat, and take pictures with you! Plus, jump over fences! I love that!
Also, how fun to see the crew roll out the snow! On screen you would never know it, as it always looks so beautiful! Love that bit of Christmas movie magic!
By the way, I love Paul’s sweater too… kind of reminds me of the one he wears in “Window Wonderland.” He & Kimberly, both, have such an incredible resume of Hallmark movies!
I’m with you, I also can’t wait to see “A Godwink Christmas”… as I’m already certain it’s going to be an instant favorite!
Blessings, Net
Kerry
NET!!! Yes, it has been so much fun and I have SO enjoyed meeting some of the Hallmark stars I admire so much!! I am incredibly THANKFUL to ALL those who have tipped me off on filming. Without those tips, I wouldn’t have had these experiences. #Grateful
I’d never seen the rolls of snow either and found it all quite fascinating to watch the set up crew. There is always so much going on at a movie set, people have their jobs to do and everyone is working at the same time on different things, all with the same goal. I have always found it so interesting for people watching.
YES, his sweater was SO cute!!! And by the way, it was August when filming took place. And he was running around in that heavy sweater! You cannot tell it was summer though because there was so much smoke from burning fires. It was like this in my town too, for nearly the entire month of August! So, no blue skies. Next time you re-watch Falling for Vermont, look for the smoke in that one too. We had horrific smoke that summer as well and it shows up in the movie. I’m sure we will see it during season 6 of WCTH as well since they were shooting in August.
I will touch base with you after the movie airs and we can compare notes. I totally agree that this will likely become a favorite! Thanks so much for your comment and for your continued support Net. 🙂
Steph
My DVR is set! That one pic with the red truck….I want that truck!
Kerry
Hey Steph! Mine is set too and I will be watching and Tweeting live! Yes, that red truck is pretty sharp! 🙂
Jackie
Watching DVR on Tuesday here in Pittsburgh. Great actors. Beautidul scenes. Love Hallmark Channel movies.
Kerry
Jackie, I hope you enjoyed A Godwink Christmas! I especially loved the locations/scenery in this one…..gorgeous!!! 🙂
Barby
Hi, I just found this!!! My husband and I are going to Dalonega, GA soon because one of the Hallmark movies was filmed there. Do you have any advice on what we ” have to see” . Thank you so much!!!
Barby
Kerry
Hi Barby, how exciting for you! I love that you are going to visit the town where Christmas in Homestead was shot. I have not done any research on the locations used in this movie. This is what I would suggest. When you arrive in town, drop by the Chamber of Commerce and let them know what brought you to town. Ask specifically about filming and locations. Likely, the Chamber Director will have a lot of knowledge and want to talk about filming with you. Please remember that real people live in these locations so always be respectful when stopping to take any photos.
Thank you so much for your comment and please email me after your visit. I’d love to hear about your discoveries. 🙂 kerry@ivesceneitonhallmark.com
Ron Munoz
Does anyone know what kind of car the main characters drove in? I loved it! The black 2 door with the winking headlights (nice touch).
Kerry
Hi Ron…..thanks for your comment. I blew up my photos and it is a Riviera. Using Google, I discovered Buick made these cars. I do not know the year of the car used in the movie but perhaps an auto enthusiast might know. Good luck and Merry Christmas! 🙂
Tina
Hello!
I was wondering where they bought the red sweater and white shirt that Kimberley is wearing I just absolutely love it!!
Kerry
Hi Tina, I do not know where any of the clothing was purchased that Kimberley wore in this movie. Maybe check IMDB and see if you can reach out to the person who handled costume & wardrobe. Best of luck! 🙂
Ed
Hi Kerry,
I really love viewing your site. Nice to see someone who loves Hallmark movies as much as I do. I must admit, you took your interest of their movies to a whole different level by finding the actual places. I would love to visit some of these places someday and you did the leg work of finding them for me already. Also if you’re ever in Ohio, a Hallmark movie was filmed in Lebanon, Ohio back in October of 2013 called “The Christmas Spirit,” A lot of places to view and find. Some things to look for in the movie: The Golden Lamb as the Laurel Springs Inn; The old Silver Street Warren County Courthouse being used as the Laurel Springs Town Hall; The cotton against the building that looked like snow; when characters walk into the Lebanon United Methodist Church on Silver Street they end up inside St. Patricks Episcopal Church on Main Street; when a character walks into the green house on S. Mechanic Street (Nicollette Sheridan’s house) they are actually in the yellow house next door (which was Olympia Dukakis’ house) and visa versa; the former office of the chairman of the board of LCNB National Bank on the third floor of the main LCNB Lebanon branch at Broadway and Mulberry used as Nicollette Sheridan’s newspaper editor’s office in New York City; the Kingdom Hall entrance of the Lebanon Presbyterian Church on East Street being used as a hospital emergency room entrance; and the exterior of the old empty Best Cafe on Mulberry Street becomes the Country Kitchen off of SR 350 near I-71 once inside.
I live about 30 minutes from there and if you’re ever up this way, please say HI.
Kerry
Ed, thank you for your comment! Yes, I am familiar with the movie, The Spirit of Christmas. While I do not have plans to travel to Ohio at this time, I will for sure keep this in mind should I travel your way. I thank you for the details on filming locations from the movie. Perhaps another reader will see this and be able to visit all of them!!! Thank you again for the details and Merry Christmas! 🙂
