Hello and Merry Christmas to you!!!
This holiday season looks very different for some of you and I understand that. Whether it be due to Covid or other reasons, this time of year may be difficult for you and you know what? That is ok. For some, the holidays are just a tough time. There are many reasons for that and we don’t always know what is going on in others lives. Please remember to be kind to those around you. And to those of you hurting right now, be kind to yourself. It will get better.
Hubs and I are spending Christmas in Arizona. 🎄☀️🌵😎🌴❤️ Just two years ago, we went to Arizona for the holidays, to check it out and see if it was a place we might like to live after retirement. Well, it was. Within six months, we purchased a home. We rent it out during the winter months and visit the rest of the year, as much as we can. It is my happy place and I am grateful to be here.
For tonight, our Christmas Eve plans are to take a ride in the golf cart to look at Christmas lights in our community. I’m bringing our portable speaker so we can listen to Christmas tunes while we look. Once home, we will have appetizers and we plan to watch Elf. I brought some hot cocoa bombs that I purchased from a friend in Washington and I cannot wait to make one!!! We may sit outside on our courtyard with Christmas music and a fire.
On Christmas Day, we will have our traditional breakfast of french toast and sausage. We have no plans for the day at all; nothing. We also have no gifts to exchange this year, by choice. There isn’t anything we need or want. We feel very grateful to have our jobs, our health, and the health of our family. As I said, we are truly blessed. At some point, we will talk to our adult daughters, one in Canada and one in Austin, Texas. And we will call my in-laws.
For dinner, we will grill steaks, which is our tradition. I suspect we will watch another Christmas movie in the evening, and perhaps have another cocoa bomb. #Simplepleasures
