Hello friends! Last weekend, I had a great time at the MacInnes farm leading a couple of WCTH tours. The first was a sweet family from Lacey, WA. Their son was a great help to me, opening the doors to the buildings at Jamestown. Also on the tour were two sisters from Los Angeles, which is where I’m from. My second tour was a bachelorette party and the tour was sort of the kick off! The bride was even blind-folded when they arrived at the farm. So. Much. Fun. And such an honor to be able to show fans around on the tour. The rain held off so that was really nice.
As I have mentioned before, WCTH tours are only offered when production is not taking place. There is no firm date yet as to when we will stop offering tours but I would highly suggest that if you want to take one, please book now. Once production is back, there will be no tours offered until 2019. To book your WCTH tour, contact Melanie here.
In honor of the newly released DVD and the paperback book by Cassidy Carter, I thought I would feature a location from the movie, The Perfect Catch. (you’re welcome!)
From time to time, I get fixated on a specific location and it always seems to happen with the ones I cannot easily find. Case and point? Chase’s parents house in The Perfect Catch. This seemingly average looking two-story home eluded me for months, proving to be a great source of frustration and the cause of a sleepless night…or two. (I know, get a life, right?) And I find that once I’m on the prowl, I just can’t let go. I’m like a dog with a bone. (woof!)
Although I have been watching Hallmark movies forever, it has only been over the past year that I have been working on content for my blog and view them a bit differently. I tend to study most movies and gather as much info as I can to locate the places we see on screen. I’ve learned a lot over the last year. For instance, I can recognize some neighborhoods by their streetlights or by the road itself. Or by a particular “look”. My gut instinct is usually right, but not always. And as I’ve mentioned before, I don’t always find the location I’m after.…sorta like that U2 song, “Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For”. At times, that could be MY theme song…for reals.
As I have mentioned before, I loved the movie The Perfect Catch and it is easily in my top five fave Hallmark movies of 2017. It’s one of the movies I can watch over and over and never tire of. (hello, its got Andrew Walker starring!) From Hallmark:
“When her high school boyfriend, a superstar baseball player, returns to town, a single-parent finds the inspiration to reinvent her struggling diner… and revisits the past to find something even better for the future. “
It was a cute feel-good story with a really great cast and the locations were fun to track down. I was able to find most of them fairly quickly, but it took much longer than I had hoped to find Chase’s parents house. About six months actually! Of course, I took breaks from the search but just kept at it until I finally located it.
For months, I believed it was in Langley as I had already found Jessica’s house and it was there. Now, I know that doesn’t always mean that the next house is close by, but in the Hallmark world, it is always a great place to begin the search. I am pleased to report that I finally located Chase’s parents’ house on a quiet street in Fort Langley, just down the road from Billie Blessings’ house in Hallmark’s Morning Show Mystery.
While there is nothing that really stands out about this property, (ahem) other than the fact that Mr. Andrew Walker has graced the front porch and interiors 😉, I still really wanted to track it down and see it.
It’s a great house and the perfect setting as the Taylor home. Actor Eric Kennyman, who plays Chase’s dad, was fantastic in the role and I loved the marriage he and his on-screen wife shared, as well as all that great ‘dad’ advice he gave to Chase. He always plays the BEST dad roles on Hallmark, definitely a personal fave of mine.
So, about this house that took six months to find…let’s check out some details. According to an old Real Estate listing, the property is a 1 ½ story home with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths in 1735 square feet. It is 71 years old and located in a very walkable area of the fort, close to shopping, schools and activities, like the farmers market. The owners take great care of it and I love the mature trees in the front yard. I was looking for the fence that Chase’s dad built but as you can see, that was just a prop for the movie.
Other Hallmark homes close by include the Trading Christmas house, Grace’s house from season 2/3 of Cedar Cove, Sarah’s childhood home from A Harvest Wedding, Wendy’s house from For Better or For Worse, and as I mentioned, Billie Blessings’ house from Morning Show Murder Mystery. Nearby businesses are the Blacksmith Bakery from Murder She Baked, the antique store from Garage Sale Mysteries, the church we saw in At Home in Mitford & Operation Christmas, and the church used in A Bride for Christmas.
Another fun location from the movie is the car lot where Jessica purchases her food truck.
Just like the movie, this is the Save-A-Lot.co Auto Group, located in Aldergrove. Recently, I stopped by to check it out and take some photos and I have to tell you that the people there could not have been nicer! I first met Jade and introduced myself and told him why I was there. I asked if I could take some pics of the place and he spoke to Colin, the manager, who said sure. And you know me, I had to ask if they were around during filming and Colin told me he was there and working! Turns out they remained open during the shoot!!! He said the crew was nice, but they were working and of course he was working, so they didn’t chat much. It was the first time they have had any filming there and I don’t think it left much of an impression either way; it was just business as usual. If anything, I think they were surprised by my visit and they were certainly inviting and helpful towards me, which I always appreciate!
The majority of the people I’ve come into contact with in B.C. have been SO accommodating when I pop in to introduce myself and inquire about filming and the crew at Save-A-Lot.co were right up there as some of the nicest I’ve met. (thanks guys!)
Save-A-Lot.co Auto Group is located at 26963 Old Yale Road in Aldergrove, B.C. Canadian readers if you need a new car, ask for Jade and tell him you’ve scene it on Hallmark!

As always, this was so fun! Each time I receive your newsletter, Kerry, I can’t wait to open it and see where you’ve visited next! You always make it feel like we’re riding along, too, on this grand adventure!
Chase’s parents house in “The Perfect Catch” is quite charming. Looks like the ideal location for the small-town boy to grow up and come home again… I’m so glad you found it along the same street with other film locations! How cool! I happened to notice there are lights strung on the porch and couldn’t help from wondering if, perhaps, a Christmas movie just might be filming there? You never know!
Also, love the back story on the Save-A-Lot.co building and the guys who work there! That’s so great!
Thanks for taking us along on another adventure! Enjoy your WCTH tours… they sound wonderful!
Blessings, Net

Net, I am so glad you enjoy reading about my adventures. I sure have fun living them out…LOL! No, the house wasn’t used in a Christmas movie as far as I know. I think the lights were still strung from Christmas. I snapped these pics in January and the owners may not have taken them down yet. I loved my Save-A-lot stop!!! It was such a nice surprise and added to the story. Thank you so much for reading Net! I appreciate your support. Stay tuned for my next post as I take readers along on what its like to go in search of a film location. 🙂
