This week’s location brings us back to Fort Langley, home to so many of the Hallmark houses we’ve scene on our screens. As I mention often, I really love this area and enjoy stopping (whenever time allows) on my trips to Canada. And there is no shortage of homes to check out when I’m there, including Bailey’s house from the 2014 movie, My Boyfriends’ Dogs. From Hallmark:
“Bailey Daley (Erika Christensen) is a hapless young bride who has run away from the altar with not one, but three dogs she adopted from past relationships. Running into a small diner one rainy evening in a soaked wedding dress with her dogs at her feet, Bailey launches into the story of her strange predicament to the restaurant owners, Louie (Michael Kopsa) and Nikki (Joyce DeWitt). She explains that she hasn’t been able to find the right love, always longing for the more loyal, stable companionship she finds in her ex-boyfriends’ canine companions. Against the knowing advice of her mother Dina (Teryl Rothery) and best friend Amber (Emily Holmes), Bailey tries to transform herself into the perfect fit for each new guy she meets. As each relationship ends, Bailey adopts her ex’s dogs, but remains hopelessly single. Will a twist of fate that stormy night lead her to realize that true puppy love happens only after one stops searching for it?”
I easily tracked down several of the locations from this movie, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I thought the story-line was something fresh and different and the characters likable. And did ya catch sight of Bailey’s house??? Oh yeah, shes a looker alright. Interiors were also used in filming. In real life, the property is a 3-bedroom, 3 bath, two-story home with just under 2800 square feet. This well-maintained pad is 10 years old and has great curb appeal. For me, the highlights include a covered porch, pitched roof, and stone accents. But my fave has got to be that white picket fence, which totally completes the look.
In the movie, we are told that Bailey saved for a long time to purchase her new house, on her teacher’s salary. In real life, this property is worth around $800,000.00 in this highly desirable community. And this is why I heart TV-land so much, because anyone can have their dream home in the pretend world of television. Love it!!! Nearby Hallmark homes include The Summer of Dreams home, Molly’s house from The Perfect Bride , Jessie’s house from A Bride for Christmas, Haley Deans house, The Convenient Groom house…and many more!
And speaking of teaching, let’s take a look at the school Bailey taught at.
The school is formally known as Walnut Grove Secondary School and is located in Langley. As you can see from my photo and the screen shot from the movie, it looks exactly as it did when filming took place. I am pretty sure interiors of the school were also used in filming, but I have not been inside any of the buildings on campus to confirm this. But typically, Hallmark tends to rent a location and use it in as many ways as they can. It makes sense financially as well as logistically. The school’s baseball field was used in one of my favorite movies of 2017, The Perfect Catch. It has also been used in other non-Hallmark productions.
Walnut Grove Secondary School is located at 8919 Walnut Grove Drive in Langley, BC.

Coming Soon: A Look Back at Cedar Cove
I am currently working on a 3-part series called ‘A Look Back at Cedar Cove’, which will begin next month. The first post in the series will (hopefully) publish on Thursday, May 3, 2018. I am giving you a heads up in case you want to re-watch all 3 seasons, which are currently available on Netflix. I will feature multiple home, business, and town locations from this beloved series. If you are a fan of Cedar Cove or know a fan, I hope you will check it out and/or share the link with others. Personally, I was delighted when the book series I enjoyed so much came to the screen. I loved the gorgeous scenery that was showcased each week and I know that alone has inspired many trips to British Columbia from admiring fans of the show, including me. I have had an awesome time researching for this upcoming series, revisiting the coves locations, as well as discovering some new ones!
Thank you for your support!

Oh, I love “My Boyfriends’ Dogs” and the character Bailey Daley! I’m so glad you found her home… I love that picket fence, too! It is more of a unique love and dog story, as you said Kerry, that’s why it still stands out so clearly among the rest!
I was honored to interview the writer, Dandi Daley Mackall, of the book the movie is based upon, and she is truly the sweetest woman… so I was immensely pleased at how well this movie was received… and continues to bring joy to viewers!
Thank you for sharing this; I’m looking forward to your coverage of Cedar Cove… their set locations were always visibly stunning on screen!
Blessings, Net
Kerry

Hi Deanna! If you are a fan of CC, then you will enjoy this look back! I’ve got a bunch of locations and rather than feature one per post, I will be breaking it down by homes, businesses, and the town of CC. I really hope you and your mom will enjoy it!!! 🙂
